About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Staff Counselor (Type B Consultant) to support the well‑being of its personnel in Qatar. Working two days per week, the consultant will deliver psychological counselling and oversee staff welfare activities within the mission.
Key responsibilities
- Implement staff welfare initiatives and psychosocial support programs.
- Provide individual and group counselling to staff members.
- Deliver specialised mental‑health interventions and referrals as needed.
- Collaborate with protection, education and community‑engagement teams to ensure holistic support.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counselling, psychiatry or a related field, with at least two years of relevant experience, OR a university degree with four years of experience.
- Active professional licence, certification or registered membership in a relevant body (e.g., psychology, psychiatry, counselling, social work).
- Minimum four years of counselling experience post‑licensure, preferably in an international or humanitarian setting.
- Familiarity with the impact of humanitarian work conditions on well‑being.
- Fluency in English.
