Steward - Hotel Kitchen Cleaning

About the role

A hotel in the Habitas collection, part of the Accor network, is looking for a Steward in Dukhan. The Steward keeps kitchen, food preparation and back-of-house areas clean, hygienic and safe, supporting the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams so that equipment, utensils, crockery and work areas are properly cleaned, sanitized, organised and maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans, and operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, dishwashing areas, storage rooms and back-of-house facilities, and perform deep cleaning of floors, walls, drains and exhaust areas on schedule.
• Ensure cleaned items are dried, stored and ready for use, and keep stewards' supplies well organised.
• Support the Culinary and F&B teams during service, events and special functions, and help set up and break down kitchen equipment and banquets.
• Report damaged or missing equipment to the Stewarding Supervisor and follow HACCP-based food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely, wear PPE, dispose of food waste correctly and report unsafe conditions or equipment faults.
• Look after equipment and cleaning supplies, monitor stock levels, check inventory regularly and promote efficient use of water, electricity and cleaning materials.
• Follow instructions from the Stewarding Supervisor, Executive Chef and other leaders, attend briefings and training, and carry out other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Steward or Kitchen Steward in a hotel, resort or restaurant is preferred.
• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, sanitation and food safety practices.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and do manual cleaning work.
• Team player with a positive attitude and respect for colleagues.

Required skills

• Basic English communication skills.
• Ability to operate dishwashing machines and cleaning equipment.
