Structures Technician Sub‑Amp

About the role

The Structures Technician Sub‑Amp provides subject‑matter expertise for the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at Al Udeid Air Base, Doha, Qatar. The role supports the full lifecycle of building structures, envelopes, and interior finishes, ensuring compliance, sustainment, and recapitalization of mechanical and HVAC assets.

Key responsibilities

• Advise AMP Managers, Operations Flight, and Engineering Flight on investment decisions for structural systems.
• Manage the asset lifecycle portfolio, covering foundations, framing, roofing, walls, windows, doors, interior finishes, and paint.
• Develop inspection, maintenance, repair, sustainment, and recapitalization plans, and identify FYDP+3 requirements.
• Perform pre‑design work, construct design calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications for new construction and renovations.
• Conduct construction inspections, quality control, submittal reviews, and assist with cost estimates and schedules.
• Administer the BUILDER database, ensuring accurate inventory, synchronization with APSR, and condition assessments.

Required profile

• Minimum Air Force equivalent of 5‑level or 5 years of trade experience.
• Completion of AFIT WENG 200, WENG 440, WMGT 231, and WMGT 417 courses.
• High school diploma or equivalent training and experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Valid driver’s license or international driver’s license and US passport.

Required skills
