Student Support Specialist – Academic Intervention & ESL

About the role

Nord Anglia Education is seeking a Student Support Specialist to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on delivering targeted academic intervention for students identified through the school’s Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and providing English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction for multilingual learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy and mathematics interventions in small‑group or one‑to‑one settings.
• Plan and teach ESL lessons for identified multilingual students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design differentiated instructional strategies and accommodations.
• Monitor student progress using MAP Growth data and classroom assessments.
• Develop, implement, and review Student Support Plans (SSPs) with teachers and families.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings, case reviews, and collaborative planning sessions.
• Communicate student progress and support strategies to teachers, parents, and school leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Teaching qualification/license recognized by the school.
• Experience supporting diverse learners in an inclusive setting.
• Background in literacy and/or mathematics intervention.
• Experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL/EAL) is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MTSS/RTI, differentiated instruction, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Proficiency in using MAP Growth assessment data.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities.
