System Engineer – Airfield Lighting & Electronics

About the role

ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a System Engineer to lead the maintenance of critical airfield electronic systems. The role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership to ensure reliable operation of lighting, monitoring and auxiliary systems at airport facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage maintenance of the Airfield Lighting Control Monitoring System (ALCMS), SAM and AiPRON Manager platforms.
• Oversee constant current regulators, ILCMS and auxiliary electronic systems such as fire detection/alarm, BMS and VoIP.
• Lead a team of technicians, planning schedules, assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
• Analyse equipment failures, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and AGL regulatory frameworks (QCAR, ICAO, BAA, FAA).
• Utilise a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for scheduling and reporting.
• Inspect airport facilities, recommend corrective measures and coordinate with external contractors.
• Identify capital equipment and spare‑part needs and support budgeting processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience with electronics equipment and SCADA systems in an aviation environment.
• Strong knowledge of airfield lighting operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with AGL regulatory standards and airport safety procedures.
• Proven ability to supervise, train and motivate technical staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Customer‑oriented, result‑driven and safety‑aware mindset.
