Teaching Assistant (Temporary)

About the role

The Georgetown University in Qatar (GU‑Q) seeks a temporary Teaching Assistant to support student engagement and academic success during the Fall 2026 term. Working closely with faculty, the TA will facilitate understanding of course material through review sessions, office hours, and assistance with instructional operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct review sessions and hold regular office hours to assist students with coursework.
• Support faculty with in‑class discussions, feedback on written drafts, and attendance monitoring.
• Proctor exams and manage course activities in the Canvas Learning Management System.
• Assist with objective grading and coordination of course logistics.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and collaborative sessions with GU‑Q faculty and Office of Academic Services staff.

Required profile

• Familiarity with introductory political philosophy and international relations theory.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to inspire and support students.
• Willingness to learn and apply active, adaptive, and experiential learning strategies.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Canvas LMS management.
