Technical Officer

About the role

The Technical Officer is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, guiding technicians, and supporting departmental improvement initiatives to boost performance. The role also ensures proper hand‑over at shift changes and reports equipment faults to engineers and STOs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the maintenance team to ensure tasks are completed correctly and on time.
• Train technicians on maintenance procedures and asset knowledge.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) and address corrective tasks promptly.
• Assist subcontractors and ensure quality of all work performed.
• Report defects, breakdowns, and spare‑part requirements to the Fault Reporting Center or relevant engineers.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a comparable facility.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations such as OSHA, MSDS, NFPA, and BS.
• Strong team‑building, problem‑solving, and dispute‑resolution abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Understanding of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
• Familiarity with NFPA standards.
• Awareness of BS (British Standards) requirements.
