Technical/Workshop Assistant

About the role

The Technical/Workshop Assistant supports the safe delivery of practical engineering lessons at the BAE Systems Qatar Technical Institute. Working closely with instructors, the assistant ensures that workshop environments are prepared, equipped, and maintained to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the safe delivery of practical training modules for General Engineering and Specialty programmes.
• Distribute tools, equipment, and materials to learners and instructional staff.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and order in compliance with SHE regulations and institute policies.
• Prepare workshop areas before classes and clear them after sessions as directed.
• Identify and report unsafe or incorrect practices to instructional staff.
• Support additional practical training and assessment tasks as required.

Required profile

• Level 2 qualification in an engineering‑related discipline.
• Working knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) regulations in an engineering setting.
• Native English speaker or minimum IELTS 4.5 for non‑native speakers.
• Desirable: up to 2 years of training or technical assistance experience, especially in apprentice or military engineering programmes.
• Arabic language ability is an advantage.

• Proficiency in handling and distributing engineering tools and equipment.
