Tendering Engineer – Grid Automation

About the role

The Tendering Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end bid process for grid automation and substation projects, translating customer requirements into competitive, compliant proposals. Working closely with internal engineering, sales, and external partners, you will ensure technical solutions meet standards while supporting commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage proposal development from RFQ analysis to final submission.
• Perform technical analysis of customer needs and recommend products from the DS Agile, G500, GPG, AAA, MiCOM and Multilin portfolios.
• Package solutions with telecom and M&D scopes where required.
• Identify risks, maintain a risk & opportunity register, and define mitigation plans.
• Conduct site assessments for brownfield or existing substations.
• Maintain tendering tool data (circuits, schemes, solutions) for future reuse.
• Review and respond to technical clarifications, ensuring timely and high‑quality bids.
• Support order booking, monitor budget margins, and drive operational turnover.
• Collaborate with sales in commercial and technical negotiations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in tendering, bid management or engineering for power grid automation projects.
• Strong understanding of substation protection, control, and automation standards.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical, risk‑assessment and documentation skills.
