Training and Standards Group Leader

About the role

The Training and Standards Group Leader reports to the Forward Maintenance Manager and is responsible for the training and standards of flight‑line and weapons‑load personnel. The role coordinates with maintenance teams, ensures compliance with Part 145 training requirements, and supports the delivery of induction, continuation and safety briefings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the training cell to guarantee personnel competence for maintenance tasks and weapons‑load activities.
• Develop and maintain training schedules, delivery programmes and training materials in line with company standards.
• Ensure all Part 145 staff meet mandated training as defined in Procedure 7.
• Collaborate with the Training Cell Team Leader and Flight Line Controller to set and uphold standards across the flight line, including See‑Offs, See‑Ins and Composite Flight Servicing tasks.
• Deliver induction, continuation, manual‑handling, working‑at‑height and SHE briefings, and maintain accurate training records.
• Liaise with external agencies for refresher courses and gather feedback to improve training effectiveness.

Required profile

• General Typhoon aircraft knowledge and competency within the technical area.
• Understanding of how the training team integrates with other trades to achieve overall objectives.
• Engineering qualification equivalent to HNC or relevant experience.
• Leadership foundation, awareness of human factors, E&PW and ITAR regulations.
• Valid UK driving licence.
