About the role

The Training Instructor Supervisor Armaments at BAE Systems Strategic Aerospace Services in Dukhan supervises and delivers theoretical and practical training for Typhoon Type, specialist and support courses, and assesses trainee performance and the training system's effectiveness. Training takes place at the Qatar Typhoon Training Facility (QTTF), supplemented by mentored training in the operational environment. The role also covers the day-to-day supervision and allocation of Training Instructors and ensures courses are properly staffed and resourced.

Key responsibilities

• Act as subject matter and curriculum lead for the maintenance technician area, supervising, coaching and mentoring Training Instructors.
• Supervise instructors and take part in preparing and delivering courses according to the authorised syllabus and the training schedule in TMIS.
• Supervise instructors and take part in exam invigilation, marking, continuous assessment and reporting of trainee progress.
• Coordinate aircraft and equipment for courses, ensure PPE and safety procedures are followed, and verify equipment pre-use checks.
• Maintain discipline among trainees, report absences to the Training Manager, and monitor the quality of instruction and assessment.
• Develop the competencies of Training Instructors and liaise with QTTF personnel on planning, standards, compliance and exam management.
• Report course deficiencies and improvements to the Training Manager, and deputise for the Training Manager where required.
• Ensure compliance with Part 147 MTOE, regulatory frameworks (e.g. ITAR, ISO), the QTTF quality system, and data protection requirements.

Required profile

• Training qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g. Level 3 Award in Education & Training).
• NVQ3/ONC level or equivalent in a relevant aircraft maintenance discipline.
• At least 5 years of recent experience in a maintenance and support environment, including supporting training activities.
• Minimum 5 years supervising and delivering aircraft Type training, with operational knowledge of instructional delivery and mentoring.
• Professional understanding of training structures and processes, self-sufficient in common training tasks, and able to handle complex work for the Training team.
