Truck Pusher / Lifting Engineer – Rig Move Transport

About the role

The Truck Pusher/Lifting Engineer will lead all rig‑move and heavy‑lifting operations, ensuring compliance with client, company and industry standards. The role involves planning, coordinating and supervising lifts, rig moves and related safety procedures on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead lifting and rig‑move operations, preparing lifting plans and obtaining client approvals.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure all lifts are engineered to applicable standards.
• Verify that competent operators are used and that all equipment holds valid test and examination certificates.
• Supervise inspections of contractor‑owned cranes, boom trucks, forklifts and other lifting gear.
• Coordinate permit‑to‑work (PTW) and road‑closure permits with clients, police and third‑party transport crews.
• Perform route surveys, pre‑rig‑move meetings and on‑site monitoring to guarantee safe loading, transport and placement.
• Develop, implement and review lifting and hoisting procedures, standards and documentation across all company locations.
• Select, procure and certify lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with international codes and regional regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering (preferred) with at least 5 years of engineering experience, including 3 years in lifting equipment inspection and certification; or diploma with 8 years experience, including 3 years in the same field.
• Certification by the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and Foundation and Lifting Equipment General (LEG) credentials.
• Strong knowledge of company HSE guidelines, Lifting Equipment Management System (LEMS) and relevant industry codes.
• Proven ability to lead contractor audits, interface reviews and emergency response planning for lifting operations.
