Turnaround Engineer - Contracts & Costing

About the role

The Turnaround Engineer – Contracts & Costing will manage the full contract life‑cycle for goods and services required during plant turnarounds. The role ensures cost‑effective procurement, protects company interests, and supports the long‑term turnaround capital plan.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve existing contracting policies, procedures, and systems.
• Analyse scopes of work and determine the most suitable tendering method and contract type.
• Prepare memoranda for competent authorities and obtain required approvals.
• Consolidate service requirements for the turnaround section and initiate the procurement process.
• Develop long‑term contracts for recurring services and identify potential bidders for direct or closed tenders.
• Explore cost‑saving opportunities by consolidating requisitions, enquiries, and order processing.
• Develop, monitor, and enforce planning and control procedures for turnaround projects.
• Coordinate closely with senior engineers, finance, commercial, and supply‑chain teams to ensure data quality in the turnaround management system.
• Support the preparation of statistical reports and trends for senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract management and cost control within industrial turnarounds.
• Strong coordination skills with senior engineers, finance, and supply‑chain functions.
• Ability to develop and maintain cost databases and turnaround control procedures.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, tendering, and long‑term contract establishment.
