Typhoon Mechanical Operator

About the role

The Typhoon Mechanical Operator will report to the Mechanical Junior Supervisor and perform detailed base‑maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft. This role requires proven experience with Typhoon systems, the ability to follow approved technical data, and a strong commitment to airworthiness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out detailed maintenance, inspection, and repair of Typhoon mechanical systems in line with work packages and approved technical information.
• Assist in fault diagnosis, raise ad‑hoc work cards for found faults, and support configuration management.
• Perform component removals, inspections, modifications, replacements, and functional/system testing.
• Maintain personal task authorisation and log‑book entries in accordance with QAF requirements.
• Report progress against delivery targets and ensure all activities are documented on relevant IT or paper‑based airworthiness records.
• Support base‑maintenance facility tasks such as oversight checks and control of tooling and test equipment to meet MOE and QAF procedures.

Required profile

• Experienced mechanical technician with hands‑on maintenance experience on Typhoon aircraft.
• Competent in interpreting approved data sets and maintenance instructions within the regulatory framework.
• Ability to work effectively within a team, follow diagnostic procedures, and maintain a proactive, flexible attitude.
• Understanding of safety management, human factors, and error‑management philosophies.
