Utility Engineer

About the role

The Utility Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, testing, calibration, replacement, and performance monitoring of water metering systems. This role ensures reliable and accurate measurement while supporting continuous improvement of metering technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance, testing, calibration, replacement, and performance monitoring of all water metering systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to meters, accessories, communication devices, and associated systems.
• Monitor installation, replacement, upgrade, commissioning, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and project schedules.
• Review and analyze performance data, identify trends, and prepare technical reports with recommendations and corrective actions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Conduct technical inspections, site assessments, testing, and verification of installations.
• Provide technical expertise on equipment selection, technology evaluation, and industry best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance measurement accuracy and asset reliability.

Required profile

• Technical background in utility or water engineering.
• Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot water metering equipment.
• Experience analyzing performance data and preparing technical reports.
• Capability to develop and manage maintenance programs.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices for water metering.
