Vaccination Subject Matter Expert – Immunization Systems Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a Vaccination Subject Matter Expert to lead the functional design and optimization of Immunization Information Systems (IIS). The consultant will bridge public‑health vaccination workflows with technical teams, ensuring compliance with HL7 and FHIR standards and supporting advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Configure immunization registry workflows such as vaccine ordering, population management, deduplication, and ambiguous ID handling.
• Define HL7 VXU/ACK message mappings, validation rules, and vocabulary usage (CVX, MVX) with integration teams.
• Develop specifications for FHIR R4 Immunization resources and related APIs.
• Validate reports and dashboards for coverage, completeness, and adherence metrics.
• Support data‑science teams in creating features and labels for vaccination forecasting and risk‑scoring models.
• Lead user acceptance testing, stakeholder demos, and end‑user training.
• Act as Level‑3 escalation point for vaccination‑related functional issues.
• Maintain SOPs, vaccine schedules, and operational documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Informatics, Pharmacy or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 8 years experience in immunization programs, vaccination registries, or vaccine management systems.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one Immunization Information System.
• Strong knowledge of national or regional vaccination programs.
• Fluent English; Arabic proficiency highly preferred.
• Experience in GCC or Middle‑East public‑health environments is a plus.
