Welding Engineer

About the role

The Welding Engineer will lead the design, development and implementation of welding processes for projects in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the role ensures welding activities meet quality, safety and industry standards while supporting production and turnaround operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement welding procedures tailored to project specifications and material requirements.
• Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with ASME, API, AWS and company standards.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for maintenance, production and field teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, fabrication and other stakeholders to integrate welding activities into overall project plans.
• Develop and deliver training programs on welding techniques, safety practices and equipment usage.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, qualifications and inspection results, and generate reports for audits.
• Monitor emerging welding technologies and assess their applicability to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure all welding work follows safety regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Welding Engineering or a related field.
• 8–10 years of hands‑on welding engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical or heavy manufacturing.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (ASME, API, AWS) and welding codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
