Workshop Manager – Industrial Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of an industrial workshop. The role involves overseeing fabrication, mechanical, piping and welding activities, ensuring production efficiency, quality, safety and timely delivery for Oil & Gas or EPC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily workshop activities including fabrication, mechanical, piping, welding, assembly and repair.
• Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, tools and materials according to project requirements.
• Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned works.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement and Stores teams.
• Review drawings, specifications and work orders before commencing activities.
• Maintain proper utilization and maintenance of workshop machinery, tools and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and safety procedures.
• Lead toolbox meetings and enforce PPE and safe working practices.
• Track productivity, material consumption and workshop costs, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare regular progress reports and update management.
• Supervise and develop workshop supervisors, foremen, technicians, welders and fabricators.
• Ensure preventive maintenance of workshop equipment is performed on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant workshop experience.
• Previous GCC experience mandatory, preferably in Qatar.
• Strong knowledge of workshop planning, fabrication processes, manpower and equipment management.
• Good understanding of QA/QC and HSE requirements in industrial/Oil & Gas environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings, specifications and project documents.
