Academic Learning Support Specialist

About the role

The University of Doha for Science and Technology is seeking an Academic Learning Support Specialist to design, implement, and oversee tutoring and learning support programs that enhance student success. Reporting to the Head of Academic Learning Services, the role focuses on creating a supportive academic environment aligned with the university’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver academic learning support programs and services to improve student learning outcomes.
• Provide academic coaching and support to students facing academic challenges, including those with learning disabilities.
• Design and facilitate workshops, seminars, and resources that promote effective study skills.
• Collaborate with other student support services to ensure integrated and complementary support.
• Implement comprehensive tutoring and remediation programs tailored to student needs.
• Promote academic support services and build relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, and students.
• Assist in maintaining and continuously improving services offered through the learning commons.
• Develop improvement plans, set goals, and monitor action plans to achieve better academic outcomes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate academic support programs.
• Experience providing academic coaching and assistance to diverse student populations.
• Strong collaboration skills with faculty, administrative staff, and other student services.
• Commitment to student‑centered learning and continuous improvement of support services.
