Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the finance team by ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, maintaining cash records, and assisting with period‑end closing activities. This position works on‑site at the Ras Abu Abboud Street office in Doha and reports to the Finance Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Verify figures, postings, and documents for accuracy and proper coding.
• Organize, secure, and maintain files, records, cash, and cash equivalents in line with policies.
• Record, store, and analyze computerized financial information using journals and ledgers.
• Complete period‑end closing procedures and prepare related reports.
• Audit cashier banks periodically and manage petty cash, cashier banks, and contracts.
• Document and act on cash variances according to SOPs.
• Serve as liaison with armored‑car services or primary banking institutions.
• Participate in internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of related accounts payable or finance experience.
• Ability to handle cash and documents weighing up to 10 lb without assistance.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to SOPs.
