Accounts Receivable Accountant

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s receivables across its public bus, school service and private taxi operations. The role ensures accurate invoicing, timely collection and proper recording of financial transactions in SAP, supporting Mowasalat’s vision of safe and sustainable transport solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify and process invoice documents, update them in SAP and ensure compliance with credit policies.
• Record all financial transactions, maintain up‑to‑date customer accounts and GL balances, and support month‑end closing.
• Conduct detailed reconciliations of customer accounts, investigate discrepancies and keep records accurate.
• Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation and share best practices with fellow AR accountants.
• Proactively follow up on overdue payments, coordinate with debt collectors and negotiate payment plans.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and customer data and adhere to internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum five years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in transportation or service industries.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable management, credit evaluation and debt collection processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP (or similar ERP) for invoice processing and account maintenance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
• Strong command of Microsoft Word for documentation.
