AI Software Engineer Intern – LLM Integration, Backend & Medical Simulation

About the role

IQTech is seeking motivated AI Software Engineer Interns to contribute to EsculapioVR, an AI‑powered VR platform for medical training and assessment. The three‑month paid internship focuses on backend development, large language model (LLM) integration, and building AI‑driven simulation workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Laravel/PHP.
• Integrate multiple LLM APIs (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, etc.) and design a flexible AI abstraction layer.
• Engineer prompts, structured outputs, and AI workflows for scenario generation and feedback.
• Support the creation of AI‑driven medical training scenarios and evaluation logic.
• Collaborate with VR, creative, and product teams to translate medical procedures into interactive simulations.
• Test AI outputs, document inconsistencies, and improve reliability.
• Document technical decisions, API behavior, and product enhancements.

Required profile

• Basic or intermediate knowledge of backend development.
• Willingness to learn Laravel/PHP quickly if not already familiar.
• Strong interest in AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI APIs.
• Good logical reasoning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficient English communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for healthcare innovation, VR, or educational technology.
