Area Operations Manager – Multi‑site Hospitality & Fitness

About the role

The Area Operations Manager is a senior leader responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day performance of multiple fitness, wellness and hospitality venues across a defined region. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure operational excellence, drive financial results and champion a consistent, high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across all sites, ensuring compliance with brand standards, health & safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular site visits and audits, develop SOPs and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Own the regional P&L, analyse financial reports, manage budgets, and achieve revenue and EBITDA targets.
• Recruit, coach and develop Site/Club Managers, oversee performance reviews and talent retention.
• Monitor member satisfaction metrics (NPS, surveys, online reviews) and resolve escalated complaints.
• Maintain health, safety and hygiene compliance, including fire safety, COSHH and pool water quality where applicable.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multiple hospitality or fitness locations.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting financial targets.
• Excellent people‑leadership skills, able to develop high‑performing teams.
• Ability to travel regularly across the region.
