Assistant IT Manager – Hospitality

About the role

The Assistant IT Manager will support the IT Manager in overseeing all technology operations at Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara. This position ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the hotel’s infrastructure, systems, and guest‑facing technologies, contributing to smooth operations and an enhanced guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing and maintaining network, server, hardware and software infrastructure.
• Support critical hotel systems such as Opera PMS, MICROS POS, key‑card access, IP telephony, CCTV, guest Wi‑Fi and HSIA platforms.
• Enforce cybersecurity protocols, perform regular data backups and test disaster recovery plans.
• Provide day‑to‑day IT support across all departments, troubleshooting issues to minimise downtime.
• Liaise with external vendors, service providers and corporate IT teams for upgrades and support.
• Train staff on system usage, cybersecurity awareness and IT policies.
• Assist with budgeting, procurement and maintain accurate asset inventories.
• Research and recommend technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and guest experience.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5+ years of IT management experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of hospitality software such as Opera PMS and MICROS POS.
• Proven experience managing networks, servers, Windows environments and cloud services.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data protection laws and disaster recovery planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication and project management abilities.
