Associate, AML CTF Investigations (Qatarization)

About the role

QNB Group, the largest bank in the Middle East and Africa, is hiring an Associate for AML CTF investigations in Qatar. The role ensures that adequate AML/CTF systems and controls exist at Group level to manage money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and keeps the Group aligned with QCB instructions, FATF requirements and other AML/CTF regulations so it avoids legal, regulatory and reputational sanctions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customer daily transactions to spot suspicious activity and implement KPIs and best practices for the Associate, AML CTF Investigations.
• Liaise regularly with Qatar Central Bank, QFMA, QFC authorities, the NAMLC, the FIU and other government bodies, and with the QNB Shariaa Advisory Board.
• Amend the AML/CTF policy manual and procedures in line with local and international law, and communicate changes to entities.
• Develop and run the AML/CTF review plan for domestic branches, test compliance with the approved KYC policy and report deviations to the Senior Vice President, Global AML CTF.
• Review and investigate Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and respond to AML/CTF questionnaires from correspondent banks.
• Provide input on system selection and reporting, coordinate training on AML/CTF with Group Human Capital, and liaise with the system vendor and IT.
• Act as backup for the Compliance Manager, support the compliance team, and take part in special investigations.
• Comply with Group policies (AML/CTF, Sanctions, Data Protection, Fraud Control, Whistleblowing, Conflict of Interest, Insider Dealing), follow the Three Lines of Defence, and attend mandatory training.
