Associate Legal Specialist – Technology Contracts

About the role

Qatar Airways is seeking an Associate Legal Specialist to join its Group Legal team in Doha. The role focuses on reviewing, negotiating and drafting technology, digital and commercial contracts that support the airline’s IT, cyber‑security and data‑protection initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support contract evaluations, cost analysis and source selection for technology, software licensing, cloud services and professional services agreements.
• Review, analyse, negotiate and draft a range of contracts including SaaS, cloud, AI solutions, implementation, maintenance, support and non‑disclosure agreements.
• Coordinate with Procurement, IT, Cyber Security, Data Protection and business owners to align contracting approaches with project specifications and timelines.
• Explain contractual requirements to internal and external stakeholders and ensure compliance with security, privacy and operational standards.
• Identify contractual risks related to cyber‑security, data processing, AI usage, IP ownership and service continuity, and propose mitigation measures.
• Maintain accurate documentation throughout the contract lifecycle and support tender and RFP processes.

Required profile

• Qatari national with a law degree and relevant legal qualification.
• Experience in commercial or technology contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong understanding of data protection, cyber‑security and intellectual property issues.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and communicate legal concepts clearly.

Required skills

• Drafting and negotiating technology and digital contracts.

• Familiarity with data protection, cyber‑security and IP law.
