Banquet Captain – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Banquet Captain will lead the beverage service within the hotel’s banquet and bar outlets, ensuring the highest standards of service, compliance and guest satisfaction in a luxury environment.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate and enforce all corporate and hotel policies, SOPs and the Waldorf Astoria Human Resources Strategic Policy.
• Safeguard guest, customer and colleague data and adhere to the hotel’s network usage and social‑media policies.
• Act as an ambassador for the hotel, promoting a safe, sound and sustainable workplace and zero‑tolerance harassment standards.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the outlet’s concept, food‑and‑beverage offerings and be able to explain them to guests.
• Prepare and present creative cocktails, non‑alcoholic drinks, spirits, beers and wines, following standard drink appearance guidelines.
• Train and coach team members, update the Standard Drink Appearance file and support the outlet manager as needed.
• Handle guest complaints promptly, report them to management and ensure resolutions.
• Set up the bar each shift, manage mise en place, conduct daily inventory checks and keep the bar organized for efficient service.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of hotel policies, SOPs and data‑protection requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to train and mentor staff.
• Customer‑focused attitude with proven ability to resolve complaints.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of presentation.
