Basing Team Officer Assistant

About the role

The Basing Team Officer Assistant supports the Director of Operations (J‑4) in overseeing U.S. engineering and basing initiatives for CENTCOM. Based in Doha, Qatar, the role ensures smooth base transitions, infrastructure projects, and compliance with environmental and real‑estate requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the J‑4 with development, implementation, and management of U.S. engineering and basing efforts.
• Coordinate and monitor base transitions, infrastructure programs, environmental compliance, and real‑estate activities.
• Provide oversight for basing operations, future planning for base closures, transfers, and growth.
• Advise on statutory requirements, equipment and facility accountability, contracts, and site turnover.
• Synchronize engineering deconstruction efforts and track critical metrics and CCIRs.
• Develop SOPs, reports, and briefings for General Officer‑level meetings.
• Support campaign‑plan specific goals as directed by the COR.

Required profile

• Secret security clearance.
• High school diploma with 8‑12 years of relevant experience.
• Military logistics background (U.S. Army, Air Force, or Marines) at Warrant Officer CW3+ or Commissioned Officer O3+.
• Minimum 10 years of contract/program management experience with DoD procurement and construction contracts.
• Ability to respond rapidly to changing requirements and manage resources in time‑sensitive situations.
• Must be able to operate a leased vehicle when traveling.
