BMS Operator – Building Management Systems & HVAC

About the role

The BMS (Building Management System) Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and controlling HVAC and utility systems through BMS, LMV, and DCP platforms. The role ensures safe, efficient operation of chilled water plants, HVAC equipment, and related safety and shutdown systems while maintaining optimal building performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate BMS, LMV, and DCP control systems on a daily basis.
• Supervise chilled water production plants, HVAC systems, and associated utility equipment.
• Track system parameters, alarms, trends, and performance indicators to guarantee efficient operation.
• Identify faults, abnormalities, and equipment malfunctions; escalate to maintenance teams as needed.
• Operate safety, shutdown, and emergency control systems according to approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and system records.
• Analyze data and propose recommendations for performance improvement and energy optimization.
• Coordinate with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation technicians during maintenance activities.
• Perform routine inspections of plant equipment and verify status through control systems.
• Support preventive maintenance programs by providing operational feedback and system history.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education (12 years of schooling).
• Three‑year full‑time diploma in Mechanical, Process, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Age preferably between 25 and 30 years.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or instrumentation plant operations, preferably in oil & gas, refineries, district cooling, or similar industrial environments.
• Knowledge of chilled water production systems and associated HVAC equipment.
• Familiarity with safety interlocks, shutdown systems, and plant operational procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating Building Management Systems (BMS), LMV, DCP, and SCADA platforms.
• Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and automated control systems.
• Understanding of HVAC plant operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and email communication.
• Good spoken and written English communication.
