Category Manager – Fruits & Vegetables

About the role

Talabat is seeking a Category Manager for Fruits & Vegetables to lead the growth of its grocery store, tMart, in Qatar. The role focuses on managing the full product lifecycle—from assortment and pricing to promotions—within a fast‑growing cloud‑store concept that offers 30‑minute delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Own category management for F&V, including assortment planning, pricing strategy, promotional calendars, and supplier negotiations.
• Monitor economic performance (sales, gross margin, P&L) and ensure alignment with the commercial strategy.
• Collaborate with operations to define flows, tools, fixtures, and templates for the category.
• Resolve issues with local suppliers and maintain cost‑efficient product offerings.
• Conduct market price audits, collect competitor data, and adjust pricing accordingly.
• Develop and execute country‑specific promotional activities based on consumer trends and competitor analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum 4‑5 years of experience managing Fresh Fruit & Vegetables in the Qatar retail market.
• Proven track record of driving category growth through assortment optimization, innovation, and seasonal planning.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret market trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor actions.
• Excellent negotiation skills with local suppliers and experience handling contracts, discounts, and payment terms.
