Chef Artist

About the role

The Chef Artist creates artistic fruit and vegetable carvings, ice sculptures and decorative pastries for the hotel’s dining venues and special events, delivering striking visual presentations while upholding the highest standards of quality and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Create fruit and vegetable carvings and buffet displays for daily service and events.
• Design and produce ice sculptures and carvings for special occasions.
• Prepare and decorate artistic pastries, cakes, desserts, chocolate and sugar showpieces.
• Develop creative concepts and themed culinary displays, including sketches and prototypes.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, hygiene, safety and workmanship.
• Collaborate closely with culinary, pastry, event and design teams to deliver projects on time.
• Select and prepare suitable ice blocks, operate carving tools safely and ensure precision and stability of sculptures.
• Manage materials, ingredients, ice blocks, tools and equipment efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Chef Artist, Culinary Artist, Fruit Carver, Pastry Artist, Ice Carver or similar role.
• Culinary or pastry qualification preferred.
• Strong artistic and creative abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict event deadlines.
• Effective teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
• Professional portfolio of fruit carvings, pastry creations and ice sculptures is highly desirable.
