Chemistry Laboratory Instructor (Higher Education)

About the role

The College of General Education at UDST seeks a Chemistry Laboratory Instructor to design, deliver, and manage chemistry lab courses for undergraduate programs. The role involves hands‑on teaching, safety oversight, and curriculum development in an English‑speaking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, set up, and test laboratory experiments for courses such as General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Health Sciences Chemistry, and Biochemistry.
• Instruct students on experimental techniques, theory, and safety protocols while supervising lab sessions.
• Evaluate laboratory reports, assignments, and performance, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory, ensuring compliance with chemical handling, storage, labeling, waste disposal, and emergency procedures.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory management, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
• Contribute to curriculum review, development of lab manuals, and continuous improvement of instructional materials.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Minimum three years of full‑time teaching experience in chemistry laboratories at an English‑speaking higher‑education institution.
• Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices and risk assessment.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills in English.
