About the role
The Clinical Coder reviews medical records and assigns accurate diagnosis and procedure codes while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and confidentiality policies.
Key responsibilities
- Review medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
- Check documentation for completeness and clarify coding queries with clinical staff.
- Support coding audits, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate coding records.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Clinical Coding, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical coding experience, preferably in a hospital.
- A recognized coding credential such as CPC or CCS is preferred.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ICD-10 coding.
- Knowledge of procedure coding systems such as CPT or HCPCS.
