Commercial Director

About the role

The Commercial Director leads the hotel’s sales, marketing, revenue management and sales‑team development functions. This senior position works closely with ownership, brand management and internal departments to drive profitability and market positioning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the pre‑opening critical path, develop market plans and coordinate communications with brand management.
• Design and implement strategic revenue‑management plans, including rate development, group thresholds, space‑utilisation policies and deployment strategies based on competitive data and demand analysis.
• Oversee revenue generation across major distribution channels (HRW, CRO, GDS, Internet) and ensure optimal use of ProfitPack and selective‑selling guidelines.
• Provide oversight for catering sales strategies and monitor revenue contribution from all segments.
• Lead recruitment, training and career development of the sales team, recommend appropriate compensation structures and ensure continuous professional development.
• Prepare and submit reports on front‑office operations, guest feedback and incidents; manage cash handling and billing processes.
• Maintain regular attendance, adhere to Hilton Worldwide standards and participate in industry organisations.
