CompEx Certified E&I QC Inspector

About the role

The CompEx Certified E&I QC Inspector will ensure the quality and compliance of electrical and instrumentation installations in hazardous areas. Working on industrial and offshore projects, you will inspect, test, verify and document E&I works to meet client specifications, international standards and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections on all E&I installations in hazardous zones according to CompEx certification requirements.
• Verify equipment, cabling, glanding and terminations against IECEx/ATEX standards and project specifications.
• Inspect explosion‑proof equipment, intrinsically safe circuits and pressurised enclosures.
• Review and approve method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and related quality documentation before execution.
• Carry out visual inspections, dimensional checks and functional testing of E&I systems and components.
• Identify non‑conformances, issue NCRs and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors and project management to resolve quality issues.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports and as‑built documentation.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments.

Required profile

• CompEx Certification (mandatory).
• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience as an E&I QC Inspector in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial projects.
• Proven experience with hazardous‑area inspections and IECEx/ATEX compliance.
• Valid offshore medical certificate; BOSIET/HUET preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
