Contract Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

The Contract Manager reports to the Contracts and Commercial Director and oversees all contractual aspects of construction projects. The role ensures contracts are administered effectively, risks are minimized, and project delivery aligns with company policies and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage client, consultant, and subcontractor contracts.
• Advise project teams on claims, variations, extensions of time (EOT), dispute resolution, and contractual obligations.
• Manage subcontractor agreements, monitor performance, and ensure compliance.
• Participate in meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to discuss contractual matters.
• Identify contractual risks and maintain the project risk register.
• Implement and monitor contract administration procedures, templates, and standards.
• Ensure timely preparation, negotiation, and closure of subcontractor accounts and final claims.
• Review contractual correspondence and provide commercial advice to project teams.
• Coordinate with project, commercial, procurement, and finance teams for effective contract administration.
• Support HSE initiatives and ensure compliance with company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
• FIDIC certification preferred; professional membership with CIOB, RICS, or equivalent advantageous.
• Minimum 12 years of contracts and commercial management experience in construction.
• Proven senior Quantity Surveyor background with strong commercial focus.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• GCC experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of FIDIC contract administration.
• Experience with claims management, variations, EOT, and dispute resolution.
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
