Defect Control Engineer – Level II (Line Maintenance Production Control)

About the role

As a Defect Control Engineer – Level II you will enhance aircraft performance and ensure continued airworthiness by providing technical recommendations on emerging fleet issues, monitoring defects and managing deferred defects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage fleet deferred defects, ensuring they are updated to the required quality level before due dates.
• Provide troubleshooting recommendations after reviewing technical documentation and reflect them in TSR/DDs.
• Analyze recurrent defects to prevent repeat occurrences and monitor fleet defects via OEM health monitoring platforms (AHM and SHM).
• Support the fleet manager with required information and reports, and collaborate with supply chain, engineering, planning and MOCC for CRMs, maintenance slot requests and component handling.
• Provide on‑demand technical guidance during Doha AOG and OOS events and participate in daily production meetings.

Required profile

• High school/vocational qualification with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of certifying experience and a QCAA B1 or B2 license.
• In‑depth knowledge of company and regulatory procedures.

Required skills

• Aircraft maintenance and defect monitoring.

• Technical documentation review and TSR/DD preparation.
• Component on‑hold management and CRM processes.
