Design Engineer – Electrical & LV Switchgear

About the role

The Design Engineer will develop and optimise product designs for low‑voltage (LV) switchgear, ensuring they are manufacturable, cost‑effective and meet client specifications. Working closely with production, quality and procurement teams, the engineer supports continuous improvement and successful product delivery in Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications and bills of materials for LV switchboards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to validate designs against production capabilities and cost targets.
• Perform design calculations, simulations and prototype testing to verify concepts.
• Optimise existing designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs and enhance performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company QHSE policies.
• Prepare technical documentation, including assembly instructions and maintenance manuals.
• Participate in design reviews, production trials and problem‑solving initiatives.
• Engage with clients and project teams to capture requirements and implement design changes.

Required profile

• Graduate or Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong accountability and ability to work independently while supporting departmental goals.
• Familiarity with QHSE standards and willingness to actively participate in safety activities.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams.
