Director of Human Research Subjects Protection Program

About the role

The Director leads Sidra Medicine’s Human Research Subjects Protection Program, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations and safeguarding the rights and welfare of research participants.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with the Qatar Ministry of Public Health and the U.S. Office for Human Research Protections.
• Collaborate with regulatory committees, department chairs, and senior leadership to support ethical research conduct.
• Oversee and coordinate HRPP activities across all relevant offices and staff.
• Develop, revise, and implement policies and procedures aligned with best practices and evolving regulations.
• Supervise the IRB administrative team and ensure timely review of all submissions.
• Manage Responsible Conduct of Research training for investigators and staff.
• Lead quality assurance monitoring, investigate non‑compliance, and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary liaison with Ministry of Public Health, federal regulators, and audit agencies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in human subjects protection or related research compliance.
• 5+ years of direct supervisory or management experience.
• Proven leadership record in an academic medical center or similar environment.
• Budget management experience.
• CCIP certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
