Director of Student Affairs

About the role

The Director of Student Affairs leads the school's student support services, assisting high‑school students in their intellectual, social and personal development while guiding them through the college admissions process.

Key responsibilities

• Provide students with vocational, technical, career and college information, maintaining a library of catalogs, pamphlets and directories.
• Distribute newsletters and updates to parents and students about testing dates, college visits, application deadlines and career‑speaker events.
• Direct students to appropriate online resources for interest inventories and post‑secondary planning.
• Organize, interpret and administer interest and achievement testing, as well as standardized testing programs.
• Plan and coordinate college fairs, individual college representative visits, and military recruiter sessions.
• Initiate community professional contacts to arrange job‑shadowing opportunities for students.
• Assist external agencies (military, colleges, technical schools) in presenting to student groups.
• Maintain up‑to‑date scholarship information and support students through registration, course selection and credit verification.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding credit status and academic progress.
