Director of Systems Engineering

About the role

The Director of Systems Engineering will lead the integration of systems engineering, satellite operations, architecture and programme delivery within a growing satellite communications business.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate systems engineering activities across multiple technical disciplines and ensure coherent system-level oversight of satellite architectures and integration.
• Lead system‑level troubleshooting, work with manufacturers and integrators, and support the major satellite programme from design through operational transition.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps, evaluate emerging AI, cloud and software‑defined solutions, and assess multi‑orbit architectures.
• Review and improve engineering processes, governance and continuous‑improvement practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in satellite communications or a related space‑sector environment, including spacecraft operations and system integration.
• Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships and influence technical decisions.
• Relevant master's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace or a related discipline is desirable.
