Division Chief – Hematology, Oncology & BMT

About the role

The Division Chief leads the Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) division, providing clinical, educational, research and executive management leadership. Reporting to the Executive Chair of Medicine, the role combines strategic vision with day‑to‑day operational oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the division’s vision, strategic direction and growth plans.
• Recommend clinical privileges, appointments and mentorship programs for division staff.
• Manage the division’s financial performance and all related budgets.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and quality standards (Joint Commission International, Qatar Supreme Council of Health).
• Lead service planning, capacity planning and development of new clinical services.
• Drive recruitment, retention and professional development of medical staff.
• Oversee administrative activities, policy development and committee participation.
• Monitor professional performance through OPPE and FPPE processes.
• Recommend capital equipment purchases and evaluate product safety and efficacy.
• Set quality improvement targets and align with Sidra Board initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven clinical and managerial leadership in a tertiary care setting.
• Ability to maintain personal clinical, educational and research activities.
• Experience with strategic planning, budget management and regulatory compliance.
• Strong commitment to mentorship and academic career development.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission International standards and Qatar health regulations.
