Electrical Discipline Engineer

About the role

Airswift is looking for a Discipline Engineer – Electrical to join an EPC project in Qatar. The role involves the study, design, specification and detailed engineering of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adapt electrical drawings, layouts and specifications for cables, earthing, lighting and equipment.
• Perform detailed design calculations using tools such as Dialux and ETAP.
• Supervise, review and validate engineering documents prepared by junior staff.
• Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards and specifications to unconventional systems.
• Review vendor technical and commercial quotations and recommend the best value solutions.
• Maintain ownership of engineering documents and ensure proper document management.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to identify and communicate impacts of engineering decisions.
• Prepare technical evaluations, engineering requisitions, proposals and cost estimates.
• Participate in project, technical and safety review meetings.

Required profile

• Proven ability to produce electrical engineering documents, including cable, earthing, lighting and equipment layouts.
• Experience supervising and checking work of less experienced engineers.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards and best practices.
• Effective time and budget management for engineering tasks.
