ELV Design Engineer

About the role

The ELV Design Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end design and engineering of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems for building and infrastructure projects in Doha. The role requires close collaboration with clients, architects and project teams to translate requirements into detailed designs, ensure compliance with international and local standards, and support installation and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, architects and project managers to capture project requirements and objectives.
• Design ELV systems including structured cabling, data and voice networks, security (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection), audio‑visual, public address, building automation and fire alarm systems.
• Produce detailed design drawings, schematics and specifications using AutoCAD or BIM tools.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies, performing risk assessments to validate proposed solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with standards such as ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI, NFPA and local Qatar regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to select appropriate equipment and materials.
• Provide technical support to installation and commissioning crews, troubleshoot issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Review system performance after hand‑over and stay updated on emerging ELV technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• 7–9 years of experience in ELV/Low Current systems design and engineering, preferably within a system integrator or contracting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics).
• Professional certifications such as BICSI (RCDD) or vendor‑specific certifications in CCTV, access control, fire alarm or building management systems are an advantage.
