English Teacher – High School (Start Aug 2026)

About the role

GEMS American Academy in Qatar is seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join its High School team starting in August 2026. The role involves delivering the English curriculum, fostering a love of learning, and supporting the overall development of students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the required English curriculum with up‑to‑date subject knowledge.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Maintain accurate records of curriculum plans, attendance, assessments and resources.
• Assess, record and report on student progress, using data to inform instruction.
• Utilise media and classroom technology to enhance learning.
• Provide guidance on educational matters and promote student well‑being.
• Communicate regularly with parents, keeping them informed of progress.
• Participate in co‑curricular and extra‑curricular programmes and school events.
• Model GEMS core values, cultural awareness and a love of learning.
• Supervise student behaviour, encouraging self‑discipline and managing disruptions.

Required profile

• Hold a B.Ed or a Bachelor’s degree relevant to teaching English.
• Embody GEMS core values of respect, innovation, leadership, purpose and tenacity.
• Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and CPD.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to school initiatives.
