Environmental Engineer

About the role

The Environmental Engineer will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of environmental policies, programs and compliance activities. This role ensures that all operations meet Qatari environmental regulations and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a direct report, ensuring efficient execution of tasks aligned with business plans and departmental policies.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date library of Qatari environmental laws, international standards and industry practices, and integrate changes into company procedures.
• Process applications and renewals for all environmental permits, coordinating with local authorities.
• Communicate regulatory updates to relevant units and provide tools for monitoring and reporting compliance.
• Develop, update and audit the Environmental Management Program, waste‑management procedures, pollution‑prevention measures and related training packages.
• Plan and oversee control programs with operations teams to meet environmental standards and best practices.
• Establish and maintain monitoring and reporting systems for air emissions, water discharges, flaring, noise and other parameters, using sophisticated modelling techniques.
• Verify daily monitoring data, report non‑compliances promptly and coordinate corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage performance.
• Strong knowledge of Qatari environmental legislation and international standards.
• Experience in preparing and renewing environmental permits and liaising with regulatory authorities.
