Environmental Officer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Environmental Officer in Doha within the oil and gas sector. The role covers day-to-day environmental compliance checks, monitoring of waste and pollution controls, and supporting environmental training and incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to verify compliance with the Environmental Management Plan.
• Monitor waste segregation, storage, handling, transportation and disposal records.
• Inspect site controls for dust, noise, wastewater, drainage, spills and chemical storage.
• Coordinate environmental sampling and monitoring with approved service providers.
• Identify environmental nonconformities, report findings and follow up on corrective actions.
• Deliver environmental inductions, toolbox talks and awareness sessions.
• Assist with environmental incident reporting, investigations and emergency response exercises.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant site environmental experience.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, industrial or oil and gas projects.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of environmental monitoring, waste management, spill prevention and pollution controls.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001; Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
• Strong inspection, documentation, reporting and workforce communication skills.
