EOT Gantry Crane Operator - Steel Industry

About the role

An experienced EOT crane operator is needed in Qatar, working in the steel industry. The role covers safe operation of rail-mounted gantry and EOT cranes, handling heavy steel materials such as billets and rebar, and strict compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate rail-mounted gantry and EOT cranes according to manufacturer guidelines, SOPs and Qatar Steel HSE regulations
• Lift, move and accurately position materials using electromagnets, hooks and slings
• Assess load assembly, identify the centre of gravity and check load safety before lifting
• Control hoist movement, speed and direction using levers, pedals and buttons
• Follow written, verbal and signal instructions during operations
• Clean, inspect and maintain cranes and lifting equipment daily, and report defects

Required profile

• Minimum 10+2 (Higher Secondary) education
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Valid third-party certification for Safe Gantry Crane and EOT Crane Operations from a QE or Qatar Steel-HSE approved institution
• Compliance with BS ISO 15513:2000, ISO 12480-1 and ISO 9926 standards
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in gantry crane or similar crane operations; steel industry experience required
• Age under 35, passport mandatory; only Muslim candidates are eligible
