Equipment Supervisor – Airport Runway Maintenance

About the role

The Equipment Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance and personnel involved in rubber removal and surface cleaning activities on runways, taxiways and aprons at Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport. The role ensures compliance with aviation safety regulations, maximises equipment performance and coordinates scheduling to maintain runway friction standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules with the Motor Transport Section for all pavement‑maintenance equipment.
• Manage equipment breakdowns and corrective repairs to minimise downtime during peak periods.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and monitoring programmes to keep vehicles and equipment in safe working condition.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, parts replacements and performance parameters.
• Organise training for operators on equipment use, safety procedures and best practices.
• Develop and present equipment KPI reports with the line manager.
• Control inventory of spare parts, consumables and tools, optimising stock levels.
• Liaise with suppliers and OEMs for timely maintenance, calibration and upgrades.
• Operate mechanical sweepers and rubber‑removal equipment when required.
• Analyse equipment utilisation reports and adjust service schedules.
• Lead adverse‑weather recalibration exercises and update emergency‑protocol training.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and ensure high safety standards throughout operations.

Required profile

• High school, vocational qualification or diploma (or equivalent).
• Experience in maintenance of airport pavement‑maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of aviation safety regulations and runway friction standards.
• Ability to lead a team of operators and coordinate with multiple internal sections.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills.
