Estimator – Construction & Fit‑Out Projects

About the role

The Estimator is responsible for producing realistic, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for quotations and tenders on incoming enquiries. The role requires timely handling of enquiries, detailed analysis of supply‑chain quotes, and clear communication with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and review contract enquiries, develop an action plan and price the enquiries within the required deadline.
• Clarify scope with clients to ensure quote accuracy and align with client expectations.
• Collaborate with line manager and team members to define overall tender strategy.
• Distribute enquiries to the supply chain, select suitable suppliers or manufacturing locations, and negotiate the best costs.
• Gather support from other departments to produce programme schedules and quality submissions.
• Analyse supply‑chain quotes, compare terms and conditions, and prepare professional tender analysis for internal review and client presentation.
• Detail cost breakdowns for contract review, analyse mark‑ups, and ensure tender summary sheets are signed off according to procedure.
• Monitor tender progress, attend client meetings, and identify risks or discrepancies in specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Participate in hand‑over meetings between estimating, operational, and commercial teams to provide necessary project information.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in the fit‑out industry, preferably in Qatar.
• Technical qualification such as B.Tech, B.E. or a relevant diploma.
• Strong knowledge of the full tender process and value‑engineering principles.
• Proficient in business English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing own time to meet deadlines.
